Setting My 2017 Goals

Two Thousand and Sixteen – Life Lessons:

  • A 10% pay increase is not enough to re-engage a disengaged employee.
  • Cliques do not end in high school.
  • Happiness is a choice.
  • Continuous self improvement is key to any successful relationship.
  • The importance of accountability and self and social awareness.
  • People often don’t regret what they have done. They regret what they have not.
  • Your career is whatever you define it.
  • I am creative.
  • I am scared of the unknown.

Two Thousand and Seventeen – Life Goals:

  • Start a Blog and produce creative content three times a week.
  • Explore my interests in makeup, food and fashion.
  • Learn how to edit a movie clip.
  • Upload a video onto YouTube.
  • Walk down the aisle.
  • Spend less money. Maintain a budget.
  • Speak to my family and in-laws once a week.
  • Form three genuine new friendships.
  • Spend more time outside. More beach, less Netflix.

Two Thousand and Seventeen – So Far:

  • Resigned from my old job.
  • Started a new job within a different industry.
  • Started a Blog.

As you can see, I still have plenty to do.

In 2017, I am forcing myself to be brave, and to be strong, and to live out of my comfort zone, and to spend the year continuously self-improving. Which I have no doubt, is going to be hard. But damnit, I am going to give it a go!

Wish me luck.

Well done on 2017 so far Linda. I am currently in the process of pursuing new goals. It is very scary out there but will get there in the end as you are.

I love this! Goal setting, and actually working towards those goals! I am in the process of trying to make my second job my full-time position. It is more of a client-based situation, but still in the realm of what my educational degree is for. It’s scary to try and take that leap towards changing what you are accustom to. Best of luck with your goals, and I look forward to reading about your adventures.

I couldn’t agree more! You hit the nail right on the head there Kay. It’s so easy to stick with what’s comfortable. I can’t tell you how much anxiety ‘change’ causes me. As much as I wish it didn’t. Can’t wait to hear how you go! Post regular updates please! Nothing like another success story to keep the motivation flowing. 😍😍

Haha, I’m glad you think so! It’s mid-march already, and unfortunately I can’t say that I’ve ticked much else off!

So what is next to be ticked off that list?

        • March 15, 2017 / 11:41 pm

          That’s a great question!
I’m not sure. This past month has been crazy. I’m going to sit down this weekend and re-assess.

What are your goals for the year? Or next few months?

For this year, getting back to work, create a work/life balance where home, family, health and job can flow effortlessly, to focus on further personal development.
