It has become some what of a habit that my fiancé and I drive down to Currumbin (it is about an hour and 5 drive south from our home in Brisbane) every Saturday morning for some breakfast, sun and surf.
I wanted to share some photos from our recent trip down. We normally aim to arrive a little past 8 am. As Currumbin is a coastal suburb of the Gold Coast, parking can get a little tricky as the day progresses.
Our regular breakfast haunt (for the last few weekends anyway) has been the Elephant Rock Cafe on Pacific Parade.
True to form, I ordered the Quinoa and Tempeh with zucchini, pickled carrots, baby kale, avocado, hummus and almonds whilst Rhett ordered the french toast with vanilla brioche, poached rhubarb and apple, granola and anglaise.
For those paying particularly close attention, we ordered the exact same meals the last time we were here (obviously these dishes are incredible)! See previous blog post – Food: My Favorite Cafes in Brisbane – Ft. Oxford Jetty & Riverbend Cafe, Bulimba QLD.
When we finally made it onto the beach – our tummys now full and spirits sky high – Currumbin beach decided to put on a real show for us with its near cloudless sky, gentle cool breeze and sunshine.
If anybody is local to Queensland, Australia and is yet to visit this gem of a suburb – I wholeheartedly recommend!
Until next time. Linda, xo
