It is only Wednesday and already this week has felt overwhelmingly busy. But despite all that, I wanted to take a moment to share with you this amazing cafe my partner and I visited over the weekend. Given how time poor I am at the moment, I’m going to keep this post short and sweet.
So, without further ado – on Saturday, we went to the Cat Cuddle Cafe! Yes – you read it right – located on Musgrave Road, Redhill a Cafe where you can have your morning coffee whilst simultaneously cuddling some cats!
To give you some context, I recently purchased Winter and Blue (my ridiculously spoilt felines) some very expensive dry food that neither were too keen to eat. So instead of letting the bag go to waste, my fiancé and I dropped by to see if the little rescue kitties wanted to give the dry treats a try.
This brilliant little establishment was founded by Katina Balson back in late 2015, who transformed an ex-tattoo parlour into a cute comforting cafe with a combination of her own funds and community donations. Comprised in this location is an upstairs cafe where coffee, cakes and cat paraphernalia are sold and downstairs is a private shelter where customers are encouraged to interact with resident felines for a small donation of $12.00.
Katina Balson at the Cat Cuddle Cafe also hosts a myriad of weekly fundraising events such as Origami with Cats, Board Games with Cats, and Yoga with Cats with all of the proceeds going to the maintenance and supplies of the private shelter.
On this particular visit, we were greeted by 7 kitties and 6 adult cats – all of which were available for adoption for $200. From what we were told, the adoption rate for this centre is pretty high with a lot of their kitties making it to new homes before making it to the 6-month mark. I sadly went home empty handed on this occasion – having 2 of my own fur-babies waiting at home.
How adorable are they! As you can probably tell – I am a little cat crazy. The Cat Cuddle Cafe actually also offer Cat Cuddle Memberships and unfortunately for my fiancé, I think that 20 visit Cat Cuddler Card has my name written all over it!
I am not sure how many of my readers are local to Brisbane, but if you ever find yourself in the area – I highly recommend you guys check it out!
Until next time – stay safe.
