For all of you guys who don’t know. Eat Street Markets is a landmark of sorts here in Brisbane (and a local haunt whenever Rhett and I have visitors). It offers live entertainment and 180 unique dining experiences (yumm-o!), all of which are housed in a colorful array of shipping containers.
If you are a Brisbane local (and provided you haven’t lived under a rock these past few months), you will know that the Eat Street Markets (otherwise now known as, Eat Street Northshore) recently underwent a massive multi-million dollar transformation. And the result could not be more spectacular. I was highly, and thoroughly, and surprisingly impressed.
Now channeling a Las Vegas styled container park feel, this new and improved foodies wonderland has increased greatly in size (8,500 sq metre to 10,200 sq metre) and ‘comfortability’ with the introduction of vast seating areas and newly renovated facilities.
Unfortunately, as my family and I made the silly decision to venture to the Markets on Good Friday (potentially the busiest night of the year), I completely forgot to take photos of all the delicious food, and drinks, and desserts that we got to sample. And yes, I am absolutely devastated over all the missed food-porn opportunity.
I honestly urge any Brisban-ite with visiting families, or friends, or pets to hit this place up. It’s opened both Friday and Saturday evenings where a small fee of $2.50 applies upon entry. I probably would not advise heading over any later than 5 pm, should you dislike crowds or wish to secure table and chairs for you and the family.
On another note, I will have to admit that these market can prove quite pricey. But in my opinion, the atmosphere, and entertainment, and exhaustive food options definitely make for a worthwhile experience that is typically enjoyed by all (unless you abhor crowds – like my father in law does, LOL).
Here is a picture of me, posing awkwardly in front of the main Eat Street entry way, happily holding a gigantic Amazonian iced tea! I had such a wonderful night where I took way too many photos and ate more than I probably should have.
I hope every one of you are having a wonderous Friday and enjoyed yet another ‘Come With Me’ post. Again, I absolutely adore making these.
And whilst I have you guys. I just wanted to squeeze in another quick life update. As some of you will know, I am still in Rockhampton for work (where I experienced my first Rodeo Show – ugh, not a fan) but am now off on an impromptu trip down to Newcastle for a self-imposed long weekend. So, unfortunately.. my inactivity in the blog-verse might now extend to next Tuesday (sobs uncontrollably).
Until we chat again soon. Stay safe.
