For today’s post, I wanted to do a spot of admin for Olive & Clo. The last time I did a check-in was back in late March (see post here) when I updated my domain name, so I’m well overdue for another one. But before I get stuck into it, in typical Linda fashion, I have provided you guys with some visual stimulus to help you get through the next 200 or so words.
These photos were taken last Sunday from my morning spent exploring Snapper Rocks, a popular hub for local surfers, located just over 100 ks south of Brisbane. Despite my complete fail to catch the sunrise (to read more, click here) and clumsy self cutting my foot on some rocks, Rhett and I still managed to have a wonderful morning, optimizing on the soft light to practice our photography before we headed off for a spot of breakfast.
Some of you guys might remember my ‘Why My Blog is a Secret’ post (to read, click here) where I opened up about why I hadn’t yet shared Olive & Clo to my family and friends and in the same post, promised myself that by the deadline of late July, I would have this blog rolled-out to said loved ones.
Well today, I wanted to announce that as of last week, the URL to this special space of mine has now been sent to a small, but very important group of people in my world (shout out to Kath, Nicholas, Sandra, Natasha, Carmen, Jemma, Harleen, Caroline, Kate, Lisa & Rick) and despite how nervous I felt to begin with, it’s been so good to be able to share Olive & Clo with some of my closest, real-life supporters. So hooray! Haha.
I have finally gotten off my lazy ass and have created accounts for Olive & Clo on all major social media platforms. So – this kind of goes without saying – but if you guys could kindly waddle over and follow/like/support my new accounts, that would be really incredible. Especially since these accounts are all looking pretty sad at the moment. Olive & Clo’s Facebook in particular could use some love with its 2 or so followers. Lol. Links are as follows: Instagram | Facebook | Twitter | Bloglovin’ | Pinterest.
I finally loosened my purse strings and invested in a new theme for this blog! I decided to go with the WordPress theme ‘Venture’ by PipDig (for anybody interested in the specs, click here). I wanted something fresh whilst also keeping the blog’s layout fairly minimal and clean, not wanting to detract from the photos and content. What do you guys think?
I have decided to change my blogging schedule from uploading every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Because as most of you guys know, my weekends are usually spent chasing light and visiting difficult locations and by the time Sunday night rolls around, I find myself exhausted and physically incapable of writing anything of substance in time for a Monday morning post.
To celebrate our little Olive & Clo family growing to over 1,500 subscribers (hooley dooley), I thought it be a good a time as any to do a Q&A post with you guys. I haven’t actually done one of these before so I’m feeling a little nervous on whether I will actually get a single question. Haha. But regardless, I am excited to be doing a Q&A of my own, being a massive fan of reading these myself. So yeah, feel free to leave any questions down below in the comment section and I’ll try my level best to answer them. 🙂
Lastly, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you guys for reading, and commenting, and engaging with me on a regular basis. You guys have made these last 4 to 5 months an absolute joy and I feel so blessed to have found such a supportive and encouraging community to be a part of. So, thank you.
Anyway, that’s it from me today. I hope this post didn’t prove too boring and as always, until we speak again next time, stay safe.
Love Linda, xo
